Historical Origin
Beijing Friendship Hotel was founded in 1954, formerly known as the western suburb expert guest house. Since its establishment, the museum has shouldered the glorious mission of receiving Soviet experts in China. It is the home of 18000 Soviet experts in China. Until March 9, 1956, it was renamed Beijing Friendship Hotel with the confirmation and approval of Xi Zhongxun, then Secretary General of the State Council, and has been used until now.

The overall architectural style highlights the traditional characteristics of famous ethnic groups, with cornices and ridges, carved beams and painted buildings. It has been included in the world architectural history published by Cambridge University, UK. In 2007, it was listed in the first batch of the list of excellent modern and contemporary buildings in Beijing by the Beijing Municipal Planning Commission and the Bureau of cultural relics.
The hotel covers an area of 220,000 square meters, with a courtyard green area of more than 60,000 square meters.
